What is Mercari?
If you don’t know what Mercari is then you are missing out on an amazing financial independence opportunity.
Mercari is what I describe as a new and uncharted version of Ebay.
While it may lack some of the advanced features that avid sellers may enjoy, I find it to be far more streamline and user friendly.

Are There Fees?
As with nearly everything, yes.
But as far as selling platforms go, Mercari is probably the most straight forward in terms of fees. Mercari’s selling fees are laid out simply. When you sell an item on Mercari, they charge a flat 10% selling fee on the final sale price, excluding shipping costs. This means that if you sell an item for $50, Mercari will deduct a $5 fee from your earnings. It’s important to factor this fee into your pricing strategy when listing items for sale. Tips for Selling Successfully:
So, how can you sell successfully on Mercari and rake in those extra dollars? Here are our top tips:
- Snap, List, Sell: Start by decluttering your home and gathering items you no longer need or use. Take clear, well-lit photos of each item from multiple angles to give potential buyers a good look. Then, create detailed listings, including accurate descriptions and fair prices. Remember, honesty is key!
- Optimize Your Listings: Stand out from the crowd by optimizing your listings for search. Use relevant keywords in your titles and descriptions to help buyers find your items more easily. And don’t forget to fill out all the necessary details, like brand, size, and condition.
- Price Strategically: When it comes to pricing your items, aim for a balance between making a profit and attracting buyers. Research similar listings to get an idea of market value, and consider offering competitive prices or bundle deals to entice shoppers.
- Provide Stellar Customer Service: Customer satisfaction is crucial on Mercari. Be responsive to inquiries and messages from potential buyers, and ship out orders promptly once they’re sold. Packaging your items securely and adding a personal touch, like a thank-you note, can also go a long way in earning positive reviews.
- Promote Your Listings: Don’t just sit back and wait for buyers to find you—take proactive steps to promote your listings. Share them on your social media channels, join Mercari community groups, and participate in promotional events to increase visibility and attract more buyers.
